Storyboard shot ideas

  • One particular shot I would like to use a tracking shot, similar to that of  the short film ‘Elephant’. The idea of the tracking of ordinary people travelling about their daily lives fits perfectly within my story. The shot will be used when detective Cruz is walking the streets of the city, going towards his crime scene.
  • In the film ‘connect’, the film uses low level lighting. With my screenplay being based around the noir genre, the use of low level lighting would be ideal, due to it being such a convention of film noir. The low level lighting should also bring a certain atmosphere around the whole film, being mystery and suspenseful, another convention of film noir. ‘High maintenance’ is also another film that uses shots of low level lighting, particularly within the dinner scene. this too created an atmosphere of mystery, as the audience were almost thrown into the deep end with the story of the couple having dinner. This atmosphere would also be ideal for my film, as it would allow for the mystery to be unravelled throughout.
