The station is rife with people, arrests being made and files being transported around to various desks Laced around the place. People working off benches and holding cells bursting. In a singular office, we see CRUZ, scruffy looking shirt and detective badge hanging around his neck, a cigar in his mouth, staring into the window of the offIce. He seems to be thinking things over. He looks over to the desk, seeing the piles upon piles of cases.
DELILAH comes storming in the office, pushing through the door of the office. She is wearing a long dark coat, long curly hair and lipstick.
CRUZ
(V.O)
It was A normal Saturday in Crime town. chaos working like clockwork, for everyone. Not every night is the same in this place, never.
DELILAH
(Panting)

Delilah Miller, formerly known as Delilah Rose. One of the prettiest women in the City, and my... friend
DELILAH goes straight to the whiskey decanter in the bottom drawer of CRUZ’s desk, pulls out a glass, proceeds to pour.
CRUZ, startled by the entrance of DELILAH, puts his cigar down into the ash tray and leans up against his desk, arms crossed.
CRUZ
(Sighing)
Delilah, Its been a while...
DELILAH downs the drink and then proceeds to pour herself another whiskey.
DELILAH
Enough of the small talk Cruz. Terrance is dead...
She stands still, staring into her glass, tears fall into the whiskey.

2.
CRUZ walks over to DELILAH, hugging her sobbing body. Glass clutched to her chest as tears fall into the glass.
CRUZ
...I’m sorry... I’m not too good at all of this
(soft whisper)
How?
DELILAH pushes away from the embrace slowly, clearly not wanting to end the moment. She slowly looks up, mascara starting to run down her Blushing cheeks.
DELILAH
Shoot out, his office got raided... Cops suspect the... Mafia...
CRUZ
(V.O)
The mafia... Once they have you in their sights for whatever reason, you might as well start digging your grave.
She suddenly thrusts back into CRUZ’s chest, sobbing louder this time. CRUZ comforts her some more, resting his head on top of hers, briefly enjoying the moment when SUSAN barges through.
SUSAN is holding a lot of files, glasses slipping down her nose and hair in a mess from rushing around constantly for CRUZ. SUSAN scurries towards the desk trying to look for space. CRUZ and DELILAH watch her As she awkwardly stands In the middle of the room.
SUSAN
Cruz, I’m so sorry, these just need tying up. Where do you need them?
CRUZ moves out of DELILAH’s embrace to help SUSAN pick up her files.
CRUZ
It’s fine. Leave them over there.
CRUZ and SUSAN finish picking up the files, and place them on the floor by CRUZ’s desk. SUSAN smartens up and leaves.
SUSAN
If you need any help, you know where I am.
SUSAN leaves the room, with some files still in hand.

3.
DELILAH looks through the window, street lights illuminating her face, slowly sipping on the remains of her whiskey.
DELILAH
What am I going to do now he’s gone? If he was involved with the mafia, then they will come for me next! Oh Cruz, you need to help me.
CRUZ smokes the last of his cigar, stubs it out in the ashtray and joins DELILAH by the window. They both stare out into the raining streets outside.
CRUZ
Im trying to help the best I can, you know how we approach the mafia on matters like this...
DELILAH
Yes, but why him? He was always such a nice man, to everyone, so How on Earth has been murdered?
DELILAH finishes her whiskey and places the glass back in the drawer. She gets ready to leave.
DELILAH
I need you to help me find him.
CRUZ looks back at DELILAH at the door, looking tired.
DELILAH
Please Cruz, I know you’re the only one who can solve cases like these.
CRUZ
I’ll try my best.
DELILAH opens the door to leave, before blowing a gentle kiss to CRUZ.
DELILAH
See you around.
DELILAH leaves the room slowly closing the door behind her. CRUZ stands there for a moment staring at DELILAH as she walks through the street outside the window. He then proceeds to sit down and flick through some of the looming files around him.
